YEREVAN. - If none of the political parties receives 54 percent stable majority of mandates, or if the majority isn’t formed within three days after preliminary allocation of mandates as a result of signing coalition agreement, the second round of parliamentary elections shall be held in the country, the draft Electoral Code of Armenia reads.

The latter was put on the agenda of today’s Government session.

The second round shall be held on the 21st day after the first one. Two parties or blocs, which win the greatest number of votes, shall get the right to take part in them.

If the new alliance, whose members got less then 54 percent of mandates, wins in the second round, they will get additional mandates up to the level of 54 percent.

If the number of votes is from 54 percent to 2/3, the number of mandates won’t change.

If there are over 2/3 votes, the rest of the forces are given additional mandates so that their number makes up not less than 1/3. The Armenian parliament opposition will have no less than 1/3 of mandates.
