Armenia’s previous Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, who is appointed Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), received president and CEO Daniel Russell of the U.S.-Russia Business Council.

EEC is the executive body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The EEC press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Sargsyan said the EEC is interested in the development of systemic discourse with business associations, including the Council. In his words, the EEC pursues economic objectives while the EEU is guided by the business agenda.

Russell, for his part, noted that the EEU is an international program that is modern and appealing for businesses. He stressed that the organization he represents is open to dialogue with the EEC. In his words, the American and European companies continue to work productively in the market of the EEU member countries. Also, he expressed the hope that the business discourse will be followed by the warming of US-EEU relations.

In addition, the interlocutors underscored the need for collaboration at the level of small, medium-sized, and large businesses.
