Myanmar’s parliament has elected the professor and the writer Htin Kyaw as a new president, Gazeta reported quoting Reuters.
It is mentioned that the new president is a close ally of the Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi.
Besides, Htin Kyaw became the first president who is not a member of military command for the first time since a military coup of 1962.
