YEREVAN. – Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan needs to update its public transport fleet.

French Ambassador Jean-François Charpentier told the aforesaid to reporters during Tuesday’s innovative urban planning seminar, in which the French Development Agency is also participating.

In the diplomat’s words, the efficiency of Yerevan street lighting needs to increase, and the city’s public transport fleet, which is outdated and very energy-consuming, needs to be updated.

As per Charpentier, the water supply infrastructure also needs to be brought up to date.

“The French side stands ready to pass on its track-record in the domain of urban management, and to prepare the necessary specialists,” the ambassador assured.
