Ex-minister of Transport of Germany, a spokesman for the Bavarian CSU party Peter Ramsauer compared chancellor Angela Merkel with the pianist on board the Titanic which sunk in the early twentieth century, Gazeta reported quoting Die Welt.
Such comparison came to the politician’s mind after he heard the statement of Angela Merkel about the success of the right eurosceptics Alternative for Germany party in the regional elections. Speaking to the presidium of the defeated Christian Democratic Party, its leader, Merkel declared that the success of the right party is not a problem for the CDU.
"It reminds me of the pianist on the ‘Titanic’. He also played to the end, because the piano could be played,” Ramzauer declared.
Besides, the politician considers that such remarks about the results of elections can make German people even angrier.
