No matter how much Armenia backs the peoples’ right to self-determination which has recently been gaining new impetus, being implemented peacefully in different parts of the world, the Armenian authorities will always support the Republic of Cyprus in the Cyprus issue.
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan announced the aforesaid today at the meeting with the students and professors at the University of Cyprus.
“This is not only a manifestation of solidarity with brotherly Cyprus: We are deeply convicted that each conflict must get its unique solution, since each of them has its sources and logic. We believe that the peaceful settlement of the Cyprus issue is very realistic unless other immediately involved forces hinder the measures aimed at the constructive solution of the conflict.
We crave for long-term peace and fair solution of the Cyprus and Karabakh issues that our peoples face,” the President noted.
Sargsyan also stressed that the settlement of the Karabakh conflict through negotiations has no alternative in the 21st century.
