Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Tanju Bilgiç, issued a statement expressing great concern that  in their talks with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who paid a visit to Greece, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and President Prokopis Pavlopoulos criticized Turkey for denying the Armenian Genocide.

In the statement, which yet again denies the Genocide, Bilgiç once again attempted to claim with false statements that just “some tragedies’ had occurred at the turn of the 20th century.

Furthermore, he blamed the national minorities, which “betrayed” Turkey, for these “tragedies.”

Tanju Bilgiç, expressed an apparent discomfort by the Armenia-Greece friendship relations, and argued that Armenian-Greek solidarity at the expense of “insulting” the Turkish identity is unacceptable.
