The Armenian Ambassador to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan today met with the Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic and National Minorities of Poland’s Sejm Danuta Petrusevska, Armenian MFA press-service reports.

“The Armenian national minority of Poland has a legal status. This is one of the manifestations of positive treatment towards the Armenian people, who have been living in Poland for several decades,” Ghazaryan said at the meeting.

The Ambassador thanked the Polish authorities for supporting the operations of the Armenian organizations and Sunday schools in different cities of Poland, as well as for implementing educational, cultural and other programs.

For her part, Danuta Petrusevska expressed readiness to establish active cooperation with the Armenian Embassy and Poland-based Armenian organizations.  

Ambassador Ghazaryan also thanked the Sejm Committee for holding discussions on the Armenian Genocide on 13 May 2015.

Moreover, the interlocutors stressed the special role and historical significance of the Armenian community of Poland.
