English pubs will be allowed to work longer during the official celebration of Elizabeth II's 90th birthday.

Prime Minister David Cameron said that during the festivities on June 10 and 11 pubs can work till one o'clock, BBC Russian Service reported.

The British monarch turns 90 on April 21, although her birthday is traditionally celebrated in June.

The point is that one of the festive events the Trooping the Colour takes place in June, which also marks the official birthday of the British monarchs.

Trooping the Colour has been a tradition since the 17th century, and from the middle of the 18th century is also official birthday of kings and queens.

It is held in London annually on a Saturday in June on Horse Guards Parade by St. James's Park, and coincides with the publication of the Birthday Honours List.
