YEREVAN. – The European Union (EU) has no reason to doubt that Turkey will not fulfill its obligations under the migration agreement.

The German Ambassador to Armenia, Bernhard Matthias Kiesler, stated the aforementioned at Thursday’s discussion on the recent migration to Europe.

The ambassador recalled that Turkey is a country that aspires to become an EU member.

“We [i.e. the EU] signed an agreement with Turkey to solve the migration problems,” Kiesler noted. “And at this point, we have no reason to doubt that Turkey will not fulfill its obligations.”

The EU and Turkey have recently agreed to reduce migration flows to Europe.

Numerous international analysts, however, argue that Brussels has given in to Ankara’s blackmail on this matter.
