U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the framework of the latter’s visit to Washington, the Vice-President’s administration said. The meeting will be held on Thursday.

The Turkish President earlier stated that he was planning to meet with his American counterpart, but the White House spokesman said that Barack Obama and Erdoğan will have an opportunity to have an informal discussion at the summit, this meeting not being included in the work schedule.

Erdoğan's visit to the U.S. will end on April 2. He will take part in the Nuclear Security Summit, which will be held from March 31 to April 1 in Washington. The Turkish president also plans to meet with business and academic circles in the U.S. capital.

In the framework of his visit, meetings with the Turkish and Muslim communities will take place. Erdoğan will also attend the official opening ceremony of the Turkish-American Culture and Civilization Center in Maryland, RIA Novosti reports.
