Russian and German Foreign Ministers, Sergey Lavrov and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, had a phone conversation, during which they expressed opinion that the confrontation round Nagorno-Karabakh has no military solution. They urged the parties to exercise restraint, Russian MFA reports.

“The FMs expressed serious concern about the escalation of situation on the Line of Contact in Nagorno-Karabakh, which has resulted in numerous casualties, including among the civilian population.

Lavrov and Steinmeier agreed that the confrontation in the region has no military solution. They urged the parties to exercise restraint, immediately cease fire and return to the negotiation process under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group,” the statement reads.
