YEREVAN. – During the events of the last days, when Azerbaijan obviously resorted to military actions, applying heavy offensive military equipment of the Russian production, it became clear that the Russia-sold weapons in the hands of the Azerbaijani side causes the loss of the balance of forces, the opposition MP Khachatur Kobelyan said during parliament’s session on Wednesday.
According to the deputy, the sale of the Russian offensive heavy equipment to Azerbaijan ruins the attempts of the OSCE Minsk Group to resolve the Karabakh conflict through negotiations.
He added that he had urged the Armenian authorities and also political forces to take steps so that our strategic partner Russia - the member of the CSTO, EEU, the member of MG of OSCE – remained committed to the first article of the charter of the CSTO and the third article of agreement between Armenia and the Russian Federation as of 1997 and stopped selling weapons to Azerbaijan.
