The issue of introducing a common currency in the frames of the Eurasian Economic Union should be considered in the near future, Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Aaly Karashev said at the ''Eurasian Economic Perspective" forum.
He mentioned that they need to consider the issues of currency regulation in the near future. In particular, the matter of introduction of the EEU single currency is for joint trade and customs control within the organization, RIA Novosti reprted.
Kyrgyz government representative noted that in the framework of the Union it is necessary to consider ensuring introduction of long-term factors of cooperation, such as the hydrocarbons market, creation of a single portal of state procurement for EEU, which will allow producers of member countries to participate in state procurements.
Armenian MP Hrant Bagratyan has also declared about the need of introduction of a single currency . According to the Armenian lawmaker, the suspension of this issue can become a serious obstacle for the growth of Eurasian Union economy as trade with the use of dollar assumes receiving this currency from a third party.
