YEREVAN. – Latvian Saeima (parliament) member Sergejs Potapkins on Saturday visited Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. 

He visited the pantheon to pay tribute to the Armenian soldiers who heroically fell in the large-scale military aggression, which Azerbaijan unleashed since April 2.

Potapkins told reporters that his visit to Armenia was unplanned, and that he arrived in the country to personally see what has happened.

“I’m very disturbed by what occurred. I feel sorrow and extend my condolences to the families of all the fallen, and to the Armenian people,” the Latvian MP noted.  “The solution of the [Karabakh] problem is through peace talks; any act of war is reprehensible to me. I wish lasting peace.”
