The joint statement on the results of the third meeting of the US-Afghanistan Bilateral Commission stated that the US intends to keep its presence in Afghanistan after 2016, and also to continue cooperation with the authorities of the country, TASS reported.

The US was presented at a meeting by the Secretary of State John Kerry who has arrived on a visit to Kabul, and Afghanistan - by his colleague, Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani.

The statement says that the bilateral commission emphasized the importance of preservation of presence of the US security forces after 2016 for performance of two important tasks: preparation, consultation and assistance to the  forces of the Afghan National Defense and Security in coordination with international partners , as well as bilateral cooperation in a joint effort in fight against terrorism.
