UK border and immigration control service was following the refugees with the help of listening devices and access to computers and smartphones for the past three years,  The Independent reported.

Since 2013, the UK Migration Service employees have acquired the rights to enter private property, including by means of special equipment  under the amendment to the Police Act of 1997. This opportunity has allowed to introduce listening devices in houses, cars and detention centers where migrants could settle down. Besides, it gave the right to break into their computers and phones.

According to the British Home Office, such a document allowed to strengthen protective measures. In addition, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that officers could use this opportunity only to prevent serious crimes of  national character.
