During his visit to Lebanon, French President Francois Hollande promised the country’s authorities to provide support in the amount of 100 mln euro, as well as military assistance.

“The French support will be increased up to 100 mln euro during the coming three years. This will be followed by immediate support in enhancing the military potential of Lebanon,” Hollande said at a joint press conference with Lebanese PM Tammam Salam, AFP reports.

Lebanon hosts over million of Syrian migrants, which is almost the quarter of the country’s population, the news agency says.

Hollande expressed hope for the speedy election of president in Lebanon, confirming that this corresponds to the interests of Lebanon and the entire international community, Sputnik reports.
