YEREVAN. - The new agreements between Russia and Armenia on arms supply require certain time, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volinkin told Armenian News – NEWS.am Monday.

Touching on the reasons of the delay in supplying Russian weapons to Armenia, the Ambassador said: ''You know that this isn't a delay, but a continuous process. This doesn't mean that Russia hasn't supplied weapons to Armenia. We have done so, but the thing is that the new agreements first of all require certain time for the choice of weapons, which Armenia needs.'' Secondly, according to him, time is needed to carry out certain inter-agency procedures and arrangements. ''Thus I think everything will take place in due time and properly,'' the Ambassador added.

Russia and Armenia have agreed on a loan in the amount of 200 mln USD for acquiring Russian weapons, but the latter haven't yet been delivered to Armenia.
