YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday received Menno Snel, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Director for Armenia.
The Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that, first, Sargsyan thanked Snel for properly representing the interests of Armenia. Considering that this IMF official will soon end his activities in his capacity as the IMF Executive Director for Armenia, the President wished him success in his future work, and expressed the hope that just as effective and constructive cooperation will be conducted also with the next IMF Executive Director for Armenia.
Serzh Sargsyan highly praised the IMF’s role in the implementation of Armenia’s economic policy, and stressed that, owing to long-term cooperation with IMF, substantial economic reforms have been implemented in Armenia over the course of the past several years. In the President’s words, as a result of joint efforts with IMF, it became possible to achieve some progress, and Armenia is keen to continue cooperation with IMF.
Menno Snel likewise hailed the Armenia-IMF partnership relations and the jointly-conducted projects, and noted that solid foundations have been laid for further cooperation.
