YEREVAN. – The diplomatic sources of Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper have informed that during internal negotiations over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, France has offered to assume the service of equipment which detects the direction of the fires being shot along the Karabakh-Azerbaijan line of contact, reported the daily.

“According to the same sources, France has also offered to send relevant specialists to the line of contact, [and] who may have the role of peacekeepers, in some sense. But it is becoming a subject of parallel discussion that these specialists be from the three [Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group] co-chairing countries [i.e. Russia, US, and France].

“And this [i.e. the introduction of a mechanism for investigating incidents along the line of contact] will be one of the key issues of the [Armenian President Serzh] Sargsyan-[Azerbaijani President Ilham] Aliyev meeting expected in Vienna,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
