The total number of migrants in the whole world reached 244 million in 2015, Belgium’s FM Didier Reynders informed.

“According to the latest statistical data, in 2015 the number of international migrants reached 244 million, which exceeds the index of 2000 by 40 percent,” he said during his speech at the conference on migration issues in Brussels.

According to Reynders, half of the mentioned migrants are women, one third of them aged 15 to 34, RIA Novosti.
