Researchers and students of London University conducted a field study to find out how the Stonehenge was built.

Archaeologist Mike Parker Pearson said, most likely the huge stones were moved to the Stonehenge site on wooden sleds with roller wheels of logs, reports Lenta referring to The Telegraph.

According to archaeologists, 10 people could move a stone weighing a tone at around 0.6 m / s. In Neolithic era, when Stonehenge was built, the area was inhabited by several thousand people , which was enough for transporting a large number of heavy stones.

Stonehenge was built in about 4-5 thousand years ago. The heaviest stones of the structure weigh 30-40 tons. The destination of the structure is not known yet.
