The employees of two biggest ports of Greece, Perea and Thessaloniki, announced a 48-hour strike as a sign of protest against the government’s plans to privatize ports, reported the Athens News Agency.

"The privatization of two largest ports is not a right model of the national policy. On the contrary, it is directed against the development of the Greek ports,” said the president of the Greek ports’ employees' Federation Giorgos Georgakopulos. “We told the government that we want to protect our right of having a stable employment."

At 11 : 00 the employees of the ports will gather and hold a rally in front of the Ministry of Navy in Karaiskak Square of Athens. At the same time, the Minister Todoris Dritsas notes that the Government's intention is to ensure safe and stable ports for workers, reports  TASS.
