A bag from the French fashion house Hermes decorated with diamonds was sold in Hong Kong for a record price 2.32 million HK dollars (300.000 US dollars), reports RIA Novosti referring to Christie's auction site.
The person who purchased that design of the bag made of the Crocodile leather, gold elements, and decorated with 18 carat diamonds , is unknown. S/he gambled on the phone. The experts expected that the model produced in 2008 and being of a rare demand will be sold for at least HK two million dollars. " It was the world record price for any handbag sold at auction," said Bingle Lee, a Hong Kong-based spokesman for Christie's to France Press. The previous record made was Hermes’ dark pink bag from crocodile leather, decorated with golden ornaments. It was sold at auction last June for 221 thousand dollars.
