A monument to selfie appeared in Texas town of Sugar, Mashable reported. It represents two girls making a self on the mobile phone. It is possible to see a sculpture at the building of the city administration.

The monument was sharply criticized by the public. Many people consider that it is a waste of taxpayers' money, but actually the sculpture was donated by one of the residents. Other commentators did not like the concept of the statue itself, Gazeta reported.

As city authorities noted, the selfie monument is a part of the collection consisting of ten sculptures. One of other sculptures represents a person playing a guitar.
