A farmer from the American state of Oregon caught a bicycle thief by a lasso, the local police  reported.

According to local media, 28-year-old Robert Borba was putting purchases into a car on the Walmart shop parking on Friday morning, BBC Russian Service reported.

He heard a woman was crying and calling for help. Someone tried to steal the bicycle from her.

Borba almost immediately jumped on his horse, which was in a trailer in the parking lot. He caught up with the thief and threw a lasso on him. The rope hooked on legs of the thief and he fell down. Borba dragged him to the edge of the park, tied him up and called the police.

The farmer regularly uses a lasso in agriculture, holding animals with the help of a rope.  The police officers who arrived in response to a call found the tired up thief and the bicycle. Police officers admitted that it was for the first time they saw how thieves are caught with a lasso.
