On June 13, 2016 there has been held an opening ceremony of the program called Come Home, which was attended by the Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan , employees of the ministry, and other guests.
In 2016 the program envisages the visit of 1,100 young Diaspora Armenians of their homeland, the Ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. As it was the previous years , the program will be held in 8 stages and will last from June 13 to August 27. This year Come Home will organize a four-day camping in Tsakhkadzor as well.
The Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan made an opening speech. Welcoming the participants of Come Home, she said: "Dear all , today I am happy to welcome you in the first stage of 2016 Come Home program. Your dreams have come true. Today you are participating in a program that has been functioning for 7 years. The program helps our young participants to learn about Armenia, love their motherland on a condition of return .
I think that you will make a lot of interesting discoveries within 14 days of this program and will acquire friends and relatives. I would like to thank our host families who open their doors and kindly host our participants. I believe the upcoming 14 days will become unforgettable for you. Welcome to the Homeland. "
Minister Hranush Hakobyan thanked the RA different departments, regional and community organizations for supporting the program Come Home.
There are 42 participants of the first stage, 20 of which are Syrians , the remaining 22 from Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, and the United States.
