Over 4,100 people were hospitalized with heat stroke, and eight of them died over a week, TASS reported quoting Japanese officials.

Since late April, almost 25,000 people have been hospitalized because of heat, most of them elderly people.

The air is heated up to 35 degrees Celsius. Despite the end of the rainy season, storms occasionally hit Tokyo, and humidity even more aggravates the situation.

In 2015 over 100 people died because of heat.
