Brazil's Senate refused to suspend the running process of impeachment against President Dilma Rousseff after long discussions. The majority of lawmaker, 59 from 81 voted for continuation of process, DW reported.
Now senators also should make a final decision on president’s dismissal but already at other special meeting at the end of August. Then impeachment will require approval of two thirds of senators (54 votes).
The process against Rousseff, which began approximately a year ago and led to her suspension, linked to suspicions of Rousseff’s involvement to tax violations and using of state funds financing of the re-election.
