A 22-year-old asylum seeker from Iran threatening to blow himself up on to the roof of a refugee center was detained in Denmark, Independent reported.
The incident occurred in the city of Nyborg on the eastern coast of the island of Funen. There was a ban on the building on aircraft flying overhead. The police reported in the press release that the man climbed on to the roof of a refugee center. Rescuers and security officers arrived at the scene, about 500 residents of the center were evacuated.
The detainee is interrogated; it is not reported, whether the Iranian had an explosive. The reporter of Fyens.dk claimed that the man was negotiating with the police, holding something in his hands.
The Nyborg asylum center can house up to 500 residents, mostly families with children live there while their applications are considered by immigration service. The Iranian was asylum-seeker, but did not live in the center. As it turned out, he lived in an orphanage in Faaborg municipality on the southern coast of the same island.
