There are 29 Russian citizens on the list developed by the Belgian intelligence services that includes people engaged in terrorist activities, reports the DW, referring to the Knack magazine.

Four Russians on the list also have the Belgian citizenship. The majority of Russian citizens who are within the scope of attention of the Belgian special services are mostly from the North Caucasus, mainly from Chechnya. As Paul van Tighelt, a representative of the Belgian Coordination Centre for Threat Analysis, notes they are associated with the Caucasian Emirate terrorist organization. In Belgium they were propagating Islam and. in some cases, supporting extremists financially. 11 people with the Russian passports on the list are currently in Syria and Iraq, another 13 are back to Belgium. The police caught one of the terrorists, the other four managed to leave the country.

A total of 614 people are included on the list of the Belgian intelligence services. Apart from the Russian citizens, there are also citizens of Belgian, France, Morocco, Algeria, the Netherlands, Italy, Syria, Tunisia, and Macedonia.
