British Prime Minister Theresa May noted that it was important to set out the timing of Britain's exit from the EU to reassure businesses after sterling plunged in the wake of her announcement of the deadline, Reuters reported.
"Businesses and people here in the UK want some degree of clarity as to when that timing is going to be. I want to give people more certainty so we will see a much smoother process as we enter those negotiations," she told ITV's Good Morning Britain show.
Earlier it was reported about decrease of the British pound rate against dollar because of statements of the head of the government about Brexit.
British prime minister also said about desire to preserve the "special relationship" with the U.S., noting their long history.
On Sunday, May said that her country intends to trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty until the end of March 2017. In June, 2016 about 52% of citizens of the UK voted for Brexit.
