The UK will continue to oppose any possible creation of an EU army, as it will “simply undermine NATO”, UK defence secretary Michael Fallon stated at the Conservative party conference in Birmingham.
Fallon noted UK’s commitment to NATO and confirmed that the UK would continue to allocate 2% of its GDP for the needs of the Alliance, RIA Novosti reported.
According to him, NATO and the international community in general must react effectively to the existing threats among which he also mentioned the policy of Russia.
