In the 2017 parliamentary elections, the Armenian voters should despise fear and turn their back on bribery.

Head of the Orinats Yerkir faction, who is also one of the leaders of the Armenian Revival Party, said the aforementioned in the parliament on Tuesday.

In her words, the local elections showed the degree to which the apathy towards politics has reached. It is so much the same for the people who will head their city or village that they are ready to sell their votes for a trifling sum of 1000-2000 AMD. This is exactly what the authorities expect.

“Nevertheless, in Gyumri and Vanadzor cities the majority voted against the current authorities – not for money or under duress, but pursuant to their convictions. But, unfortunately, the feudal order still dominates in some small towns and villages.  The key issue ahead of the 2017 parliamentary elections is to overcome fear and turn one’s back on bribery. This will allow fair elections to achieve justice in the country,” Bisharyan added.
