The Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder headed the Board of Directors of the Nord Stream 2, which is a branch of the Russian Gazprom, reports the Tagesspiegel. Nord Stream 2 formally confirmed the nomination of Schroeder but refused to be specific when he will take the office.
Over the past 10 years, Schroeder headed the board of shareholders of the first Nord Stream pipeline consortium. The Company implemented construction and operation of the pipeline, primarily supplied gas from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea. As Tagesspiegel reports, he will remain in that position. Nord Stream 2 is an operator of Nord Stream 2 marine pipeline project. The company’s headquarters is in Switzerland.
