YEREVAN. – A delegation from the Sentences Enforcement Department of Belarus paid a visit to Armenia.

At the meeting, which was held in the Criminal Executive Department (CED) of Armenia, CED Head Artur Osikyan briefed the Belarusian colleagues on the reforms conducted and work carried out in the penitentiary system of Armenia, the CED Department of Public Relations informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The discussants also conferred on the avenues for expanding cooperation, and several other matters of mutual interest.

In addition, the Belarusian delegation got familiarized on location with the infrastructure of some prisons in Armenia, measures toward re-socialization of prisoners, and several other issues.

Also, the heads of correctional services of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in a number of domains.
