There are taking place parliamentary elections in Morocco. The voting turnout in the first hours is no greater than 10%, reports the RIA Novosti, referring to the Sky News Arabia channel. It is expected that the turnout will increase, after the working day and the traditional Friday prayers are over.
It is the second time that Morocco holds elections, after the democratic reforms made by Mohammed VI in 2011. At the first elections in 2011 the moderate Islamist Justice and Development Party had a victory.
The party that will have a victory in the election will have the right to nominate a new Prime Minister and form the new government. On Tuesday the authorities of Morocco announced about preventing terrorism, planned to be implemented during the elections by a group of women.
