2016 can be the hottest year in the history of meteorological observations. According to preliminary data, the average global temperature has exceeded the pre-industrial indicators by 1.2 degrees.

According to the UN deputy spokesman Farhan Haq, experts of the World Meteorological Organization point out that out of 17 hot summers, 16 were recorded in the 2000s. They also pinpointed to the record indicators of long-term warming and increase of density of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

The UN is concerned about the speed at which Greenland's ice melts. The WMO experts say that floods and unusually hot weather become more frequent from year to year due to climatic changes. The UN cherishes hopes with Paris Agreement, which entered into force in record time and by record support of member states.
