A resident of Cologne, Germany, has earned more than 44 thousand euros, handing the same empty bottle, reports the Local newspaper. The deceiver managed to change the receiving machine, by adding a magnet transmitter and a unique wooden tunnel, which did not allow the device to break down the plastic bottle. Thanks to this, the man was able to constantly hand the same bottle and get cash in exchange.

To receive 44 thousand euros, the German tucked the same bottle in the machine for 177 thousand times and pressed OK. Deutsche Pfandsystem Gesellschaft, the company that installs such automatic machines, did not notice the deception. The police began investing the case, only after they had received an anonymous call. The German is sentenced to 10 months in prison.
