The Georgian government leads its obligations toward the country’s national minorities to the matter of teaching the official language, according to the Armenian Community of Georgia website.

It is noted that on November 26, the new Parliament of Georgia approved the new cabinet of the country. 

Now, the parliament is examining the Government Program, which is the cabinet’s action plan for the next four years.

The said document’s section that refers to the exercising and protection of the rights of the country’s national minorities notes as follows, in particular:

“The Civic Equality and Engagement 2015-20 Action Plan will be implemented.

“Raising the state language proficiency level will be a special priority.

“Access to state services and industry administrative documents will be improved for the national minorities in densely populated areas.

“Infrastructure, socioeconomic opportunity development will continue in the regions inhabited by national minorities.

“An opportunity will be ensured for the national minorities to preserve and develop their cultural identity.”
