At least a person died and seven more remained under rubble in the west of Poland in Polkowice, in Rudna mine which collapsed as a result of an earthquake, Interfax reported.

At the time of the tremors there were 16 miners in under the ground, part of them were managed to be brought to the surface.

The earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 had local character. The epicenter of the tremors was located at a depth of 1,500 meters. The quake was felt by residents of the neighboring cities, however serious damage occurred only in the mine.

Rescuers was continuing to work at the scene.
