YEREVAN. – Armenia’s ambassador to UK, Armen Sarkissian, met with Leader of the House of Commons, David Lidington.
First, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the progress that has been achieved in bilateral cooperation over the past 25 years since the establishment of Armenia-UK diplomatic relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Also, the parties discussed Armenian-British collaboration, and exchanged views on Armenia’s parliamentary election, which is slated for April 2, and on the usefulness of the British track-record in Armenia’s transition to a parliamentary system of governance.
At the end of the talk, Ambassador Sarkissian briefed Lidington on the latest developments with respect to the Karabakh conflict. In particular, he spoke about the results of the military aggression which Azerbaijan had unleashed against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in early April 2016, and the ongoing efforts by Armenia and the Co-Chairs of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, to address these results.
