YEREVAN. - Imposing taxes upon mines is not justified, Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan said in the parliament on Wednesday, responding to the question of Alliance Party Chairman and MP Tigran Urikhanyan.

The latter stated that the taxes on mining companies should be raised for just taxation of surplus profit. ''Surplus profit is out of the question,'' Karapetyan said.

According to him, mining companies are currently in a position where imposition of new taxes will only harm.
