YEREVAN. – A consulate general of Armenia will open in Erbil, in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The respective decision was made at Thursday’s cabinet meeting of the Government of Armenia.

More than a dozen foreign missions are already operating in the Iraqi Kurdish autonomy.

And considering the need for development of bilateral cooperation as well as the existence of an Armenian community in Iraqi Kurdistan, it was decided to open a diplomatic representation in Erbil.
