Some Western elites try to sow strife between the US and Russian presidents, said Alexander Rahr, the director of German Russian Forum, during the meeting with journalists   in Valdes international discussion club.

At the same time, Rahr believes, that they will not succeed, since it is beneficial for Trump to establish relations with Russia. "When these  two leaders meet, probably in Hamburg, they will agree on many things. If they won’t, it will be a nightmare for many forces in Europe, "he added.

According to him, Europe does not know who is Trump. "Trump will arrive in Europe, look into Putin's eyes and look into Merkel's eyes," said Rahr. The political scientist reminded, that while during the US presidential campaign the West was supporting Hillary Clinton, Russia was supporting Trump.
