French police detained a 20-year-old woman threatening strangers with a knife in the city of Dijon on Friday afternoon. The woman has already been known to the French intelligence agencies, RFI reported quoting France Bleu Bourgogne radio.
Thirty minutes before accident, the police stopped the woman and reminded that wearing a headdress which is completely covering the face is banned in France.
Soon several people called the police and reported that they saw a woman with a knife in the church of Sainte-Bénigne and in shops in Dijon. The police detained her in a perfume shop.
According to Infos Dijon, the woman is now in the police station. Law enforcers are trying to establish her motives. The newspaper Le Parisien noted that the woman was previously known to the French internal intelligence as a supporter of radical Islamism.
