The number of abortions is rising in Armenia. According to the work entitled “Women and Men” by the RA Statistical Service 11.9 abortions per 1,000 women were registered in 2005, whereas 15 abortions per 1,000 women were registered in 2009.
Abortions have shown an especially rapid increase among women aged 15-19 – 5.2% against 3.5% in 2007.
