Lithuania’s actions in connection with constructing a fence along the border with Russia is Russophobia, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

In his words, however, it is pleasing that, despite the anti-Russian actions by the Polish and Lithuanian leaderships, the latter’s local authorities of the neighboring regions of the Kaliningrad Oblast (province) of Russia see their residents’ interest in continuing contacts with, and not building a fence between, Russia.

The Lithuanian authorities on Monday announced that they will build a 44.6km fence along their border with Russia.
