Armenia attaches major significance to expansion of relations with the EU, Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said during the meeting with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby.

Abrahamyan stressed that recently developing political dialogue is raised to a new level with the start of Eastern Partnership project, RA parliamentary press service informed NEWS.am.

Peter Semneby reiterated EU’s growing interest in regional problems and expressed readiness to expand ties with Armenia.

The sides also touched upon normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations and regional issues.

The officials expressed confidence that development of inter-parliamentary diplomacy and intensification of inter-parliamentary contacts will contribute to the solution of many problems.  They also discussed issues concerning Armenia’s fulfillment of its commitments to the World Trade Organization and Association agreement with the EU.
